Orly You’re Blushing

Despite a brief interlude with warm weather (it was 80+ for most of the past few weeks), we’re now back to normal spring temperatures and I’m rediscovering my greiges/grurples. Yay for sweater weather and moody colors!

Essie Bangle Jangle, OPI Planks A Lot, OPI Parlez-Vous OPI?, Orly You're Blushing, Essie Chinchilly

I picked up Orly You’re Blushing (part of the spring 2012 Cool Romance collection) a few weeks before my sister’s wedding and have worn it at least 4 times since then. It’s a gorgeous greyed lilac creme that looks soft and delicate on the fingers, but more edgy than a standard light pink. It fully spans the distance between grey and purple to the point that I have a hard time putting it in one category vs. the other.

(This picture is less color-accurate than the first, but shows the finish in more detail.)

The creme finish is a joy to work with, and is fully opaque in 3 thin coats or 2 thicker coats. I had no issues with dragging or brush marks, and I found the round Orly brush easy to use. I also love the rubber grip on Orly bottles because they’re always easy to open and I never drop the brush (it’s sad how uncoordinated I can be).

If greige is your thing, I highly recommend picking up this polish. It’s $8.00 at Ulta, and if you purchase in the next few days you can get an additional 20% off with code DS1112 (expires 4/14/12).

I love the look of Essie Bangle Jangle and Essie Chinchilly – but really all of these are gorgeous, I love this kind of shade.

Me too! I’m glad there are such interesting options now for those of us who love grungy colors.

What a lovely shade! OPI Parlez-Vous OPI? is also really pretty. Then again, I’m a sucker for purples…
