MAC Iris Apfel Collection for Spring 2012
A colour collection inspired by a rare bird who has always been ahead of her time, Mrs. Iris Apfel. Subject of her own exhibit at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and larger-than-life star, Apfel boldly mixed flea market finds with haute couture decades before doing it was considered de rigueur. M·A·C presents Lipsticks, Beauty Powder and Eye Shadows with as much fabulous flair and joie de vivre as the woman who helped create it.
Ah, here it is. MAC’s bright spring color collection. This one is in honor of Iris Apfel, who quite frankly I had never heard of until today. Apparently she is some kind of businesswoman/style icon/philanthropist extraordinaire. She was once featured in a fashion showcase entitled “Rare Bird”, hence the bird-themed names in this collection. I’m glad MAC is promoting someone who seems like a good role model! Available January 5th, 2012 in North America and January 2012 at international locations.
