Now, let’s get to the main event. For whatever reason I’m in a serious candle phase. Maybe it’s the fact that it gets dark so early now, I don’t know. This weekend I was at the mall running errands and I decided to take a peek into Bath & Body Works because I knew their candles were on sale (2 for $10) and I had a $10 off coupon. I sniffed all the testers and although I liked quite a few, I fell in love with Marshmallow Fireside.
Slatkin & Co. (the company that makes candles for Bath & Body Works) describes the scent as toasted marshmallows and sweet vanilla cream wrapped in the aroma of rich smoldering woods. It sounds sickly sweet but I promise the marshmallows and cream take a back seat to the smoky notes, especially after the candle’s been left open for a bit. It’s exactly the way I’d want my house to smell when people come visit… warm, comforting, inviting, but not cloying.
The label claims a burn time of 25-40 hours for the 4 oz candle, which is excellent in my opinion. I’ve burned mine for 4-5 hours so far and there’s probably at least 85% of the wax remaining.
Wow that sounds amazing! When I get to the states for the holidays I’ll have to pick that up!
