Stephanie of In Her Makeup Bag left a comment on Sunday’s post about the Tarte 30% off Friends & Family Sale going on right now. I’ve had a Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush ($25 for 0.20 oz.) in my review drawer for a week or two, so what better time to write it!

Tarte claims these blushes are made with nutrient-rich clay from the Amazon River that provides a smooth finish and great lasting power. I don’t know if clay is the cause, but the product claims are certainly true! This is especially a relief for those of us who experience the Disappearing Blush Act on a regular basis.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed + MAC Gem of Roses Lipstick
Exposed is a warm dusty rose nude (think NARS Oasis, but matte) that would work well on many skintones. I applied it pretty heavily in the picture above to make sure you could see it, however I’ve been wearing just a touch on my cheeks for that I’m alive and awake, I swear! look.
The powder is finely milled and super pigmented. I’ve been using this blush daily for about 2 weeks and I’ve used such a small amount of product that the imprinted design looks like new.

One interesting feature is magnetized removable pan (just stick a pin through the hole above the back label). This will make things super easy for those who love to depot their products for palettes. Tarte doesn’t yet offer empty blush palettes, however you could always use a freestyle palette if you want. I tried to put mine in a MAC blush palette, but the Tarte pan was slightly too big.

Considering the brand’s history (middle-of-the-road), I think the blushes are slightly overpriced at $25. Then again, NARS blushes are $27 and contain 25% less product. Personally, I liked the shade range offered by Tarte a lot better than the NARS shade range, so I’ll stick with Tarte.
Bottom Line: Tarte really brought their A-game when they launched these blushes. At the very least, you NEED to test them out at the mall.
Psst… don’t forget to use code FFAUG for 30% off at Tarte, which means these blushes will cost $17.50 each. Sale ends August 15th!

I think I need to pick this up at the sephora FFsale.
