Soap & Glory Knock Your Spots Off Super Powered Instant Spot Fighting Gel

Soap and Glory are an unapologetically British brand. Aside from when they’re apologising for their products being made in America. Which is actually on the packaging for Soap and Glory’s Knock Your Spots Off Super Powered Instant Spot Fighting Gel. The packaging also warns that a certain chemical in the product can cause an increased risk to sunburn, so suddenly, the very British packaging makes sense.

Due to a combination of stress, poor diet, and bad skin, I’ve had a bit of a minor breakout in the chin area. The packaging looks like it’s ripped straight from Quadrophenia. It claims that it will “Knock Your Spots Off”, provided you use it twice a day, until the spots disappear. It also claims to work on bumps caused by ingrown hairs.

The actual product burns a little when you put it on, but in the words of my secondary school P.E teacher, “If it hurts, it means it’s working.” Make sure you only use a small amount, or at least rub it in a bit, because after a little while, it sort of congeals into a weird, brown tinted, clear paste. Not a good look.

Price wise, it’s kind of steep at over £6 a tube. You only need to use a small amount though, so I guess it’ll last a long time. I’m usually fairly skeptical on the “use until you don’t need it anymore” type of products, but this stuff actually really impressed me. Practically overnight there was a visible reduction in swelling and redness, and after a couple of days, the problem had all but cleared up. Although the product is marketed toward men, I can’t see any reason why women couldn’t use this product. Aside from to get rid of bumps from ingrown beard hair. Probably.
