I received a package from Skindinavia the day I left for London and hastily stuffed No More Shine Makeup Setting Spray ($19 for 2 oz.) into my suitcase. Turned out to be a brilliant idea because it’s awesome.
Skindinavia claims that this spray will control shine throughout the day and keep your makeup looking as fresh as when you applied it. Apart from lip products, I found these claims to be true. My trip consisted of days where I left the hotel at 9:00am and didn’t return until 10:00pm or later, but I never looked oily, my foundation didn’t break down, and even my blush seemed to stay on longer.
Obviously a lot of this is due to the foundation I’ve been using, which lasts very well on its own. I don’t think this spray will make any foundation last 16 hours, but if you’ve got a decent one already, No More Shine will certainly give it a noticeable boost.
I’ve been using No More Shine since I got home, and it’s just as great. That’s especially amazing since it’s been 90-100 degrees most afternoons. I sat outside for several hours taking photos last week and my makeup didn’t even think about budging.
I thought maybe the effects were in my imagination until last week when I forgot to apply No More Shine. I noticed my foundation looked much more worn that afternoon and there was much less product on the makeup wipe I used before washing my face. To me this indicates that the oil from my face had broken down the rest of it.
I really love the packaging because it’s sleek and perfectly suited to the product. I typically apply 3-4 spritzes (it’s way more fun than it should be) right after I apply the rest of my makeup.

i’ve honestly never used a setting spray…or Skindinavia even though so many bloggers race about their skincare products. I looked on their site, and it was rated a whopping 4.82 already– looks worthy to me!
I had a setting spray applied at a master class once and it seemed to work well, but I never went to the trouble of purchasing one for myself. I’m so glad I have one now!
