Chanel Rouge Coco Shine 51 Unique

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 51 Unique is a sheer medium raspberry with tiny gold shimmer. I don’t have anything like it in my collection, however it reminded me of a Chanel Aqualumiere Lipstick my mom used to wear. Since the Rouge Coco Shines were brought into replace the Aqualumieres, I’m not surprised. A little Googling revealed that Chanel has an Aqualumiere-to-Rouge-Coco-Shine transition chart and Unique is slated to be a replacement for Chanel Aqualumiere in Java. Aha!

Rouge Coco Shine
It should be no surprise that I’m loving the sheer, glossy formula of the Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks. They only last a few hours, however the darker shades leave a bit of color behind once the gloss wears off. Unfortunately the glossiness requires a softer bullet, so I imagine you’ll get through a tube faster than usual.

One thing Chanel knows how to do right is luxury, and that’s what you’ll get with the sleek black and gold packaging. The caps lock into place with a satisfying click. Rouge Coco Shines have the same floral (perhaps rose?) scent as the regular Rouge Coco line, however it isn’t very noticeable after you apply.

Bottom Line: Rouge Coco Shine Lipsticks sit firmly in the splurge category at $32 each. If I only had a nickel for every MAC collection…

I love the Rouge Coco Shines! I currently have Monte Carlo, a bright, warm, almost corally-pink color, and it gives a great pop of color. I also have Cavalier, a neural brown rose, for days when I want to concentrate more on my eyes.

All the colors you’ve chosen are gorgeous! I love that there is such a great selection of color with this line, from neutral to bright…something for everyone!

    Thanks for the review!
