MAC Lovelorn Lustre Lipstick

Try saying that three times fast! My tongue is tied just thinking about it.

I’ve had my eye on this shade for a long time, so when I finally saved up enough Back2MAC empties it was at the top of my shopping list. In case you’re not familiar, Back2MAC is a recycling program where you bring in old MAC products and get a free eyeshadow, lipstick, or lipgloss. If you want to know more about it, let me know and I’ll do a post (the info on the MAC website is kind of useless, unfortunately).

Lovelorn is a Lustre lipstick, which is my favorite formula from MAC because it’s sheer and moisturizing. I’d describe it as a mauvey flamingo pink with no shimmer.

Here’s Viva Glam Gaga I, also a Lustre, which is much cooler and more vibrant than Lovelorn.

Bottom Line: This is a fun pink lipstick for light to medium skintones.

    I love Lovelorn. It gives me that natural beauty pink lip that I go to on days I want to look “simple pretty”… =) You look lovely!

    I think I will be purchasing Lovelorn next. Please do a post on back to Mac, I don’t understand which items qualify & like you said the Mac website is rubbish! x

    how similar is it to MAC’s angel?

      I can’t be sure since I don’t own Angel, but here’s a comparison photo from another blog. Angel looks more like a pinky nude than Lovelorn, which looks like a cool flamingo pink. The other difference is that Angel is a Frost formula and Lovelorn is a Lustre, so Angel is more pigmented and Lovelorn will show a lot of your lips’ natural color through it.
